I’m Maria Voncken, a Dutch artist and art therapist, currently living in Tokyo, Japan.

Through my fluid art, I capture still moments with a touch of sparkle. The beauty and serenity of Japan have deeply inspired me — especially the Japanese way of life, with its focus on minimalism, cleanliness, and appreciation for natural imperfection.

The golden and silver light that shines upon the natural world is a true inspiration for me. This light, as it reflects on nature’s beauty, brings a sense of calm to the soul and reminds me of how beautifully life can reflect itself. It’s this peaceful feeling that I aim to capture in my art. I create with conscious intention, listening to how each piece wants to exist, which allows each artwork to develop its own unique identity — much like nature, impossible to replicate or replace.

For me, art is not only a way to express emotions but also a healing journey — a way to deeply connect with the world around us. Each piece I create reflects nature's magic, and my hope is that it brings a sense of wonder and peace to those who experience it.
